Our ambition is to Make Smoking History for Children.

Our mission is to prevent tobacco related health inequalities and poverty, by breaking the cycle of addiction and exposure to tobacco in every community.

As leading experts in tackling tobacco and a highly respected social enterprise, Tobacco Free Futures draws on strong evidence based research and valuable public insight to tackle tobacco harm, successfully drive down smoking and reduce childhood addiction.

Our work involves:

  • youth led and youth focused action
  • protecting children and young people from secondhand smoke
  • reducing the supply and demand for Illicit tobacco
  • supporting stop smoking services
  • supporting smokefree pregnancy

By facilitating regional and national tobacco control activity at a local level, Tobacco Free Futures has established a national and international reputation, influencing strategy development and legislation and providing a voice for local communities.

Achievements to date include:

  • 14 year old smoking rates halved in two years
  • leadership and support for an innovative illicit tobacco programme which has seen the market share fall by 23% in two years
  • reduced health impacts of secondhand smoke exposure for children through Take 7 Steps Out campaign
  • award winning marketing campaigns on Smokefree pregnancy, secondhand smoke and illicit tobacco driving tens of thousands to protect their children
  • EU award winning youth campaign work through Smoke & Mirrors
  • advocacy activity including contribution to new legislation on tobacco displays at point of sale and the removal of cigarette vending machines
  • support for local improvement and development work and facilitation of networking and best practice sharing
  • initiation of a programme on monitoring and evaluation of the impacts and outcomes of tobacco control
