Smoking is one of the leading causes of death in the world, but still many people continue to smoke even if they know the adverse effects of smoking. The nicotine present in the cigarette creates an addiction and smokers tend to smoke again and again. Quitting smoking is hard, but it is not impossible so even if you are addicted to smoking you can still quit as your life is at stake.

The following are some of the reasons to quit smoking:

Longer life:

The tar that is produced due to the combustion of tobacco gets accumulated in your lungs, and it causes a lot of health problems. Smoking can cause lung cancer, heart diseases, oral cancer, heartburn etc. You might not understand this in the beginning stages of smoking, you will tell yourself that you will quit after some time, but you will find yourself in a position where you might be addicted to smoking, and it might be too late.

Many smokers suffer from hearing diseases and spend a lot of their hard earned money on medical bills. Premature death can be avoided when you quit smoking.

Your family will be happy and healthy:

If you happen to have a family and smoke in front if your kids, there are high chances that your kids will also start smoking at a very young age. More than that, they become passive smokers as the smoke you exhale will be inhaled by them, and it can cause them severe health issues. Kids are affected by asthma, SIDS and other respiratory diseases. You need to remember that whenever you are smoking in front of your kids, you are affecting the health condition of your kids as well.

You will have a good relationship with your neighbours:

As smoking is not accepted socially, if you go around smoking, people will not like you. These days you might see that all the workspaces ban smoking and certain landlords do not rent to people who smoke. There are many communities and places which enact laws to ban smoking in public places like restaurants, malls, and even bars.

Stop smoking now

Save a lot of money:

Smoking is an addictive habit, and once you get the nicotine in your body, you will want more of it. Studies have shown that an average smoker spends more than $2000 in a year for smoking. If you happen to smoke, you calculate the amount you spend for smoking in a day and multiply it by 365 to get the total amount of money you will be spending in a year.

Lead a happier life:

Quitting smoking is a tough procedure, and many people find it so hard to quit; the withdrawal symptoms can be quite tough to battle with, but once you have quit smoking, you will feel that your body is slowly healing and you will feel a lot happier. Your family will be happy too, and you are saving yourself from premature death.
